No, Robert Arrington is not guaranteed to be present on any scheduled hunt. All hunts are guided by the DMFD Life team.

You may request Rob to be on your hunt using this form. Availability is limited due to filming and travel. Requests are reviewed carefully to make sure the timing, group, and expectations line up.

Alligator hunting in Florida operates under specific permitting systems.

• In public land hunts, the client holds the permit and tags
• In nuisance hunts, the authorized trapper holds the permits, and participants assist under that authorization

All hunts are conducted in accordance with regulations set by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Public Land Hunts:

August 15 through early November (based on assigned permit dates)

• Hunt beginning at 6:00 PM
• Up to 24 hours on the water or until harvest is complete
• Hands-on participation guided step-by-step

We recommend:

• Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
• Closed-toe shoes
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Food and drinks for the duration of the hunt
• Any personal non-hunting gear you prefer

Safety is a top priority. 

All hunts are guided and conducted with proper equipment and procedures. You will be given instructions before and during the hunt. Participants are expected to follow all guidance from the guide at all times.

Your guide reserves the right to cancel or terminate the hunt at any time if safety protocols are not followed, behavior is deemed unsafe, or conditions present a risk to participants or crew.

No experience is required.

We will guide you through the process and provide instruction throughout the hunt.

You must have a valid alligator harvest permit and tags issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

IMPORTANT: Two of the four participants must be hunters with valid tags and licensing.

Full day (24 Hour)

Standard hunts begin at 6:00 PM and run up to 24 hours, or until a gator is harvested. Some hunts may end sooner depending on success. Your guided gator hunt is complete once the gator is back to the meeting point.

Transport of gator to the processer will require an additional fee.

DMFD Life Guides do not process your harvest. However, we partner with a trusted processor that will handle your harvest for you.

We may be able to provide transportation of the harvest to the processor for an additional fee. Please arrange this with your guide prior to your hunt.

An agent license allows you to legally assist in an alligator hunt under a permitted or authorized individual.

It does not allow you to hunt independently—it simply allows participation in the experience.

A permit holder may have appropriately licensed individuals assist in the hunt. The permit holder must be present on the hunt and each assistant must either hold a valid Alligator Trapping License (for any harvest unit) or Alligator Trapping Agent License. Those wishing to assist in this way can purchase an Alligator Trapping Agent license.

Permit holders must report their harvest within 24 hours of harvesting an alligator online at FWC Alligator - Public CITES Tag Search and Reporting.

Unused tags must also be returned to the FWC and failure to comply may result in exclusion from participation in the statewide alligator program for a period of one year.

If conditions are unsafe, the trip will be rescheduled.
